About The Practice
The practice comprises four partners, three full time and one part time, based in our extended and
refurbished practice building with a small car park to the rear and main entrance on to Long Street. Each
partner provides a full range of general medical services. This means that we each deal with all areas of
medicine. We are able to advise you and your family on most medical problems which you may encounter. If we
feel you are in need of specialist services, we are able to arrange for appropriate referrals, both on the
NHS and privately. We have strong links with many specialists at hospitals locally as well as further afield.
We are fortunate in Tetbury because we have managed to bring many excellent specialists to provide services
locally at Tetbury Hospital for your benefit. The practice building is furnished with a purpose-built minor
operating room where we are able to undertake minor procedures.
We feel that continuity of care is important. When you need a doctor, please ask to see the doctor who you
regard as “your own”. Planning a few days ahead for routine matters will usually enable you to see the doctor
of your choice. However, we will always see urgent problems “same day” and in this case it may be necessary to
see whichever doctor is available.
We now also offer on-the-day appointments, each day, for routine matters.
Training
We are involved in training both doctors and medical students. Each year there is a registrar with the
practice, sometimes two, who are fully qualified doctor with extensive hospital experience, and who are
spending their first year in general practice, supervised by one of the partners. As a confidential aid to
this training process we do occasionally ask your permission to make video recordings of consultations. This
is aimed at helping to improve young doctors’ consultation skills. If asked, you are, of course, at liberty to
refuse to be videoed. All recordings are confidential and are subsequently destroyed.
Medical students from Bristol University spend two week attachments in the practice from time to time. If a
student is in attendance you will be informed before you go in to see your doctor. If this is not acceptable,
you are, of course, free to request that the student leaves the room during the consultation.
Disabled Access
This is from the car park at the rear of the building. Disabled lavatory facilities are also available.
